Brilliant OLED, lower price

It's no secret how impressed I was by the LG B5 last year, giving it 4.5 stars out of 5 in my review. Not only is its picture quality up there with the best OLED TVs, it's also among one of the best gaming TVs you can buy right now.

The B5 delivers superb picture quality, with strong contrast, punchy and rich colors, crisp textures and superb motion. Whether it's the contrast-rich picture of The Batman or the staggeringly vivid Elemental, the B5 does an excellent job. It may lack the brightness of step-up OLEDs, but really this is my only complaint. Other than that, it ticks all the OLED boxes.

It also makes for an excellent gaming display. It supports 4K 120Hz, AMD FreeSync and Nvidia G-Sync, HGiG, ALLM and Dolby Vision gaming across all four of its HDMI 2.1 ports. It registered a measured 9.1ms input lag-time for responsive, smooth gameplay, which I appreciated when playing chaotic battles in Battlefield V, with targeting was razor-sharp.

While OLED is still a premium-priced technology, the B5 is a brilliant entry-level option that saves you some money in return for very few compromises. And with this President's Day deal, you can enjoy an OLED in a big-screen size for less.
