Welcome to our live blog of Day 12 at Wimbledon. Today features two bolckbuster semifinals, as Taylor Fritz (5) faces Carlos Alcaraz (2), and Jannik Sinner (1) takes on Novak Djokovic (6).
Djokovic is chasing a record-extending 25th Grand Slam title, but hasn't reached a major final since Wimbledon 2024.
Before we see his appearance on Centre Court, all eyes will be on Fritz and Alcaraz. The 22-year-old Spaniard is riding a 23-match winning streak and looking to complete a Wimbledon hat-trick after titles in 2023 and 2024.

Taylor Fritz and Carlos Alcaraz have made their way out onto Center Court for their semifinal and are going through their warm-ups.
It's a picture-perfect scene, with a packed house trying to keep cool as best they can on a day where the mercury is set to hit 32C on a sweltering day at SW19.
Alcaraz has won the two previous meetings between the players at the Masters 1000 Miami in 2023 and the 2024 Laver Cup, but can fifth seed Fritz and his cannon of a serve produce what would be the upset of the tournament.
Fritz won grass court tournaments at Stuttgart and Eastbourne, so has pedigree on this surface, but two-time defending champion Alcaraz is on a 23-match winning run in 2025.

💥 Alcaraz breaks Fritz in the opening game

It's an ominous start for Alcaraz here at the All England Club, as the Spanish second seed breaks Fritz in the opening game of the match.
The second seed got a bit of luck (not that he needs it) thanks to a net cord, but Alcaraz is already making the ball sing.
He consolidates the break with a hold to love and take an early 2-0 lead.

Fritz has started to settle after that nervous start. He's held a couple of service games with some typically monstrous serving, but Alcaraz is still a break up.
Alcaraz's first serve has impressed, but he's won only one point behind his second thus far, so if Fritz can climb into a few more of those, he could do some damage.

🤝 Alcaraz wins the first set 6-4!

Fritz saves a set point on his own serve at 3-5 by having to hit three shots that should have been winners, but Alcaraz somehow gets two back before the American finally hits beyond the Spaniard. Eventually, Fritz holds to force Carlitos to serve it out.
Alcaraz duly obliges, with six aces in a first set impressive for its ruthlessness from the second seed. It's hard to play tennis much better. He didn't drop a point behind his first serve.
Fritz barely missed a ball in those 10 games, but he's already a set down. On commentary, Agassi compares Alcaraz to an extra-terrestrial. He's not wrong.

Out on the court, it's on serve after the opening seven games of the second set at 4-3, with Fritz having just held for the fourth time. The American is trying to impart some scoreboard pressure on Alcaraz, who is serving second this set. Can Fritz get the break to sneak ahead?

Fritz earns a break point, his first, at 3-4 on the Alcaraz serve but a trademark drop shot from the Spaniard helps him eventually hold serve. Fritz follows suit to hold and force Alcaraz to serve to stay in the second set.
The American has started to really hit through his backhand in this set and is playing super-aggressive tennis. On commentary, Agassi notes this and it's backed up the stats – 73mph average in the first set, and 76mph in the second.
Two spectators have taken ill in the crowd in the past 10 minutes, too, to give you an idea of how hot conditions are at courtside here. 🥵

Fritz is on the march as Alcaraz serves to stay in the set for the second time, and absolutely crushes a first serve back at Alcaraz's feet for 0-30. The Spaniard then double faults to give Fritz three set points, which he takes the first time of asking as Alcaraz floats a bit of a nothing forehand long. One set all!
That break happened in double-quick time to give Fritz the set. He'd done a great job at building scoreboard pressure as the set went on and just staying one step ahead by being aggressive.
So, it's one set all and we've sure got a match on our hands.

🔥 Alcaraz breaks early in the third set

Alcaraz has refocused at the start of the third set and broke Fritz in the third game to love. He was seeing it like a football that game, three returns that flew back at Fritz's feet with such ferocity the American was just setting up the second seed for easy winners.
Alcaraz then backs it with a hold to love and consolidate the break to lead 3-1 early in the third set. That's 13 points in a row for the two-time defending champion.

It's gone with serve since that Alcaraz break, with the Spaniard starting to find his rhythm again on his groundstrokes, particularly the forehand which has its pop back.
Fritz now serves to stay in the set.
😱 Alcaraz breaks again to win the third set 6-3!

Alcaraz is really turning the screw now and swiftly moves to 0-30 on the Fritz serve by moving his opponent side to side. After a fine pass, Fritz then double faults to give Alcaraz two set points at 15-40.
Fritz saves the first with a bomb, but goes long with a backhand with the second as Alcaraz wins the third set.
The Spaniard is now one set from a third Wimbledon final in a row and it's hard to see a way back from here for Fritz, not least because that second break in the set means Alcaraz will serve first in the fourth.
As Agassi says on comms (I cannot get over how good he is at this), he's got to red-line it from here.
🙌 On serve halfway through the fourth set

Five games, five holds in the fourth set here. Fritz is serving well but is having to strain to hold more than Alcaraz, who has well and truly re-found his mojo.
A moment ago, the Spaniard feigned a drop shot, only to hit through the ball at the last minute for a winner. He's enjoying himself out there, alright.

Fritz saves a break point to hold, with impressive stones, for 3-3. Alcaraz then holds to love, then again to go 4-5 up with Fritz serving. This has been the pattern of the fourth set.

Carlos Alcaraz has just played one of the best games you're likely to see. Crushing forehand winners, delicious drop volleys and a second serve that kicked like a bucking bronco. Tennis doesn't get much better.

The pair are firing on a cylinders now and exchange early winners. Alcaraz gets the early mini-break, though, reaching a Fritz drop shot and then responding to the ensuing overhead with another winner.
Advantage Alcaraz, as a 138mph first serve takes the next point, then a serve and volley for another.
It feels Alcaraz's to lose now...
Back on serve, Alcaraz saves to set points
Fritz 4-6, 7-5, 3-6, 6-6 (6-6) Alcaraz*
Fritz wins his next two service points to go to 4-3 and force Alcaraz to play his stuff. Fritz then creams a backhand down the line, over the high part of the net, to break back to 4-4.
There's absolutely no quit in Fritz, who then wins another point on the Alcaraz serve. Two serves for Fritz, he needs to win both to take the set and go to a fifth.
An unreturnable comes first, 6-4, but Alcaraz saves the first set point, on the Fritz serve no less, with a great point. Alcaraz then saves the second as Fritz goes long with a backhand.
We're level at 6-6. Incredible stuff.
💪 Alcaraz WINS to reach a third Wimbledon final in a row!
Fritz 4-6, 7-5, 3-6, 6-7 (6-8) Alcaraz*
At 6-6, Alcaraz hits a huge second serve, Fritz comes into net but Alcaraz sticks a pass on the American's ankles and he nets.
Alcaraz then reinforces his defensive capabilities to drive deep and force the Fritz error. Alcaraz wins in four sets and let's out a huge VAMOS.
He was made to work hard there, but Alcaraz's depth of shot in the breaker – to save two set points – was stunning.
Alcaraz confirms he'll be watching as much of the other semifinal between Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic as he can ahead of Sunday's final.
When the points really mattered it was Alcaraz who proved capable of playing his best tennis, but Fritz more than played his part. That second set was about as good as he can play and not even Alcaraz could live with him.
Alcaraz extends his winning streak in 2025 to 24 in a row. Make it a quarter-century and he'll have a Wimbledon three-peat.

Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic have taken to a quarter-full Center Court, which is catching its breath and refilling water bottles ahead of the main course.
Sinner has won the past four encounters between the players – including at the French Open this season – but the 38-year-old has won their two matches at Wimbledon in 2022 and 2023.

💥 Sinner gets an early break

After the players trade early holds, Sinner puts the pressure on and breaks Djokovic to 15. The top seed is already in an incredible groove on his groundstrokes, moving the Serbian from side to side and constantly hitting into space.
Djokovic nets with a backhand after back-court rally to give Sinner the early advantage in the opening set.
Sinner puts the pressure on again from the back of the court and breaks Djokovic for the second time to take the opening set 6-3. The Italian world number one has been superb this set and Djokovic seems unusually subdued.
Worse still for Djokovic, that break means he'll serve second in the second set again.
🌪️ Sinner breaks early in the second set

Expect Sinner's level to drop? Not a bit of it – the top seed is still crushing the ball from the baseline and putting Djokovic under such pressure that the Serbian is making uncharacteristic unforced errors.
Djokovic is broken with relative ease and he's now a set and a break down. The lack of first-set atmosphere, while fans were getting food and drink post-Alcaraz, isn't helping the 24-time major winner.
So far, it's a repeat of the Sinner win at the French Open.

🤩 Sinner still leads and in 'the zone'

This is just relentless stuff from Sinner. "Again, and again, and again," says Andrew Cotter on commentary on BBC iPlayer, where you can watch for free if you're a UK resident.
It's easy to forget that Sinner was all-but down and out in quarterfinal against Grigor Dimitrov. The Italian was two sets down and being comprehensively outplayed when Dimitrov tore a pectoral muscle and had to retire hurt.
Today, though, Sinner has played flawlessly brutal tennis. Djokovic is trying to keep the points short and serve-volleying a bit more to try and shake the top seed from his purple patch.
👊 Sinner wins the second set to lead 2-0

Djokovic is under the pump for an entire game as he tries to hold and force Sinner to serve it out. He saves four set points to finally emerge with the game. The crowd are at least finally getting involved with this, as chants of 'Nole, Nole' reverberate around the venerable Center Court.
Sinner that produces first serve after first serve, finished off with a bludgeoning ace, to win the second 6-3.
This is ruthless brilliance from the top seed. Djokovic receives treatment at the change of ends for a groin injury. This doesn't look good in general for the Serbian.
🫀 Djokovic breaks to lead 3-0 in the third set!
Sinner* 6-3, 6-3, 0-3 Djokovic
What seemed to be a relatively simple hold turns on its head from 30-0 as Sinner misses an easy overhead to go break point down. The Italian then dumps a backhand halfway up the net and Djokovic breaks in the second game of the set!
Could this be the start of something for the sixth seed? He's still wincing at that adductor injury, which he picked up in the closing stages of his quarterfinal win, but he holds to 15 and the crowd goes wild. Djokovic is feeding off that now. He couldn't, could he?

🔀 Sinner breaks back to 2-3 in the third set

Sinner saves break point in a six-minute fourth game to stay within touching distance at 3-1.
And it proves to be a crucial hold, as he breaks Djokovic to 15 in the very next game. It was a bit messy from Djokovic, in truth, overhitting mid-court forehands before netting a drop shot to gift Sinner the break back.

🔝 Sinner breaks again to go two games from the final

From a point for 4-0, Djokovic is now down a break after Sinner comes roaring back to lead the the third set 4-3, with the balls to serve next.
Djokovic is still moving gingerly and it seems almost impossible for him to come from two sets and a break down to win this one.
Are his 38 years finally catching up with the 24-time grand slam champion?

Sinner is really in the ascendancy now as the world number one holds to 15 to move within one game of the final at 5-3.
Djokovic is again limping and is almost playing like he doesn't want to be there. Only his respect for the support and the sublime tennis Sinner is playing is keeping him out there. Djokovic manages to hold thanks to some fine serve-volleying but has to break to avoid exiting the tournament he loves most.
And he can't do it. Sinner holds to 15 to win 6-3, 6-3, 6-4!
Sinner has had too much of everything today and he moves into the final to face Carlos Alcaraz on Sunday!
Djokovic exits to much Center Court applause
For Djokovic, one wonders what is left for the great 38-year-old, who remains tied with Margaret Court on 24 grand slam singles titles. Wimbledon feels like the best chance for him to do so, but he's running out of years.
"Novak has a lot of thinking to do over the next month," says McEnroe on commentary. "It's the first time I've ever looked at him and thought he might not come back. Can he accept being a rung below these guys."

For his part, Sinner has now become only the fifth man since 1995 to reach the final of every grand slam tournament. The other four? Roger Federer, Rafa Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray (not this one).
"Not bad company, eh?" laughs Sinner in his on-court interview immediately after the match.
He now faces Carlos Alcaraz on Sunday in a repeat of their French Open final classic that went the distance to five sets in over five hours. It's going to be epic, don't miss it.

What's it going to be – revenge or repeat?
The French Open final between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz was a five-set epic that swayed back and forth until the latter came out on top, having saved three match points to do so.
Barely six weeks on and men's tennis' two dominant forces are back in another major final, on Wimbledon's manicured lawns.
Sinner became only the fifth men's player since 1995 to reach every grand slam final after overwhelming Novak Djokovic in their semifinal but got lucky in advancing against Grigor Dimitrov only because of the Bulgarian's injury while two sets up against the world number one.
Alcaraz, meanwhile, has cut a swathe through the draw since a drab opening match against Fabio Fognini that went to five sets. Since then, the Spaniard has been brilliant, displaying artistry, power and a drop shot to sell your soul for.
He's won the pair's past five meetings, too, and with a 24-match winning streak in 2025, Alcaraz starts as favorite.
