This is a great deal on Amazon's most basic Kindle, just $10 shy of the record-low price from Black Friday. It isn't water-resistant, so you'll need to take extra care by the pool, but it can still hold dozens of books, lasts for weeks on a single charge, and can even play Audible Audiobooks. I still love this Kindle for its simplicity, especially if most of your books and audiobooks are already in Amazon's library.

The Amazon Kindle Paperwhite is the Kindle most people should buy. It is durable, with IP68 water resistance that can withstand sand and a splash of saltwater at the beach. I was able to read for hours a day for more than a week with a single battery charge, and listening to Audible audiobooks is also a joy. This is $10 shy of the record low on the latest Kindle Paperwhite, so don't hesitate if you want to read a lot of books on the go.

The Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition costs a bit more, but you get some interesting feature additions.
