Amazon is selling the M5 MacBook Pro at an all-time low price for Black Friday and I'm trying my best to resist
I've been thinking about replacing my daily driver laptop for a few years now, but I was waiting for the right opportunity to come along. I think I just found that opportunity thanks to this Black Friday Apple deal - you can get a 14-inch MacBook Pro (M5, 2025) for $1,642 (was $1,799) right now at Amazon.

That's a $157 price cut on a MacBook that was already a solid value because of the fact that it didn't see a price jump over the 2024 model. So if you need a new laptop for work or school, this Black Friday discount is the way to go.

Apple's latest 14-inch MacBook Pro is down to the lowest price I've ever seen it at thanks to Black Friday. If you already have a perfectly good M4 MacBook, you don't have a major reason to upgrade to the M5. But, if you're still rocking an M2, or even an Intel-based MacBook, this is an excellent opportunity to get a much needed performance boost at a very reasonable price. This configuration comes with 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD, but you can get the price down even further to $1,444 (was $1,599) if you opt for 512GB of storage.
Few laptops offer the same level of polish as the M5 MacBook Pro. At 14-inches, the screen is the perfect size for both portability and a comfortable viewing experience, and that's combined with the gorgeous Liquid Retina tech on offer.
And of course, if you know anything about Apple Silicon performance, you know it's top-tier. These latest MacBooks with M5 chips are so efficient they don't even need fans to keep cool - no more jet engines whirring to life when you power on.
Our resident MacBook expert and Managing Editor, Core Tech, Matt Hanson awarded the 14-inch MacBook Pro (M5, 2025) 4 out of 5 stars in his review. He praised the excellent battery life and speedy performance, and he named the Liquid Retina display "one of the best screens you can find in a laptop." Though he did note the lack of Wi-Fi 7 and design differences over last year's model.
As long as you're alright with those minor downsides, this laptop is very easy to recommend for fans of MacOS who haven't upgraded in a few years.

Save $250 on Apple's latest 15-inch MacBook Air (M4), bringing it under $1,000 total. This configuration comes with 16GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD, which I think is the sweet spot for university students and remote workers (especially if you pair it with a cloud storage service). If you want some more storage space, you can double it to 512GB for an extra $200.

The MacBook Air is Apple's thinnest and lightest laptop. With a powerful M4 chip, it can handle most tasks that you throw at it, while its excellent display, comfortable keyboard, and impressive battery life round it out. Right now it's on sale for $749.99, saving you $200.

Newer M3 and M4 models are now available, but this is an unbelievable price for a 13-inch MacBook Air with an M2 chip. While it's an older model, it remains an incredibly powerful laptop for those who need a premium powerhouse for school, productivity, coding, or creative work. You also get double the RAM at 16GB (compared with, for example, a base Air M3), although the 256GB of storage feels a little paltry in 2025. Still, we rated it highly in our MacBook Air M2 review, thanks to the stylish design, clear display, impressive performance, and long 18-hour battery life.

The cheapest MacBook you can buy is the Apple MacBook Air M1, available exclusively at Walmart, for just $599. Not only is this an outstanding price for such a powerful laptop that still holds up well in 2025, but it could also be the last chance to pick one up now that it's officially discontinued. Don't miss this incredible deal if you're looking for a great bang for the buck MacBook.
